GS-Hydro's advanced technology is the basis for the precise design of the pipe system.
Process design
The dimensioning of the pipe is either based on the customer's specifications or done in accordance with GS-Hydro's internal standards. The diameter is determined based on working pressure and flow rate; if necessary, the correct size is confirmed by calculating the system pressure drop.

Mechanical design
The choice of pipe material is based on the customer's specification or GS-Hydro's expertise. The pipe class, which specifies the desired wall thickness based on the required working pressure / design pressure, is selected in accordance with the customer's design requirements and applicable standards, codes, rules and regulations. If necessary, a computer-based FEM analysis can be performed to determine stresses in the piping system as well as in flanges and supports.

Layout design
To prepare the pipeline (pipeline drawings) and material extraction (spare parts lists) GS-Hydro needs: basic design data (flow rates, working pressure / design pressure, specifications, etc.) Hydraulic circuit diagram and Layout drawing showing machine / equipment location and attachment points. Isometric drawings are helpful but not necessary. If detailed drawings are not available, GS-Hydro makes measurements on site. By creating a 3D model, it is possible to ensure correct piping and also to evaluate the ease of installation. The flexible 3D model can be easily modified to meet design changes and to find the optimal piping layout.

Prefabrication Design
As a result of the design, piping drawings and parts lists are developed that specify all components and materials. Based on the layout design and parts / material lists, workshop / coil drawings are prepared for prefabrication to be done in the workshop (or alternately on site with GS-Hydro's container workshop).

Installation design and manuals
Assembly / installation drawings are provided for the work on site along with installation manuals to ensure proper installation. Pipe support fabrication drawings and other services can also be provided.
